Odaily reports that Ondo Finance and Japanese financial group SBI Group have announced a strategic partnership. Both parties will jointly promote the tokenization of Japanese equity assets and explore the use of yen stablecoins for on-chain settlement and collateralization.
Ondo stated that, as one of the largest issuers of tokenized stocks globally, this collaboration will connect Japan's mature capital markets with the global tokenized financial ecosystem, expand the accessibility of Japanese assets on-chain, and promote Ondo tokenized products to Japanese investors through the SBI Group ecosystem. According to the cooperation plan, both parties will advance the following directions:
Issuing tokenized Japanese assets through Ondo Global Markets (BVI) Limited, a subsidiary of Ondo;
Providing on-chain settlement and collateral support for Ondo tokenized assets using SBI's JPYSC yen stablecoin;
Distributing Ondo tokenized financial products through the SBI Group ecosystem.
