BlackCat ransomware co-conspirator has approximately $8.37 million in crypto assets, real estate, and vehicles confiscated

Jinse Finance reported on July 20 that, according to the US Department of Justice's asset forfeiture announcement, the Federal Court for the Southern District of Florida has ordered the confiscation of approximately 90.319 BTC, 7,999.873 XMR, and a small amount of XRP, XLM, and SOL held by BlackCat/ALPHV ransomware conspirator Angelo Martino. Based on current market estimates, the total value of the crypto assets is about $8.37 million, including approximately $5.84 million in BTC, $2.46 million in XMR, and approximately $71,000 in other tokens. The court has also ordered the confiscation of two Florida properties owned by Martino, as well as his cars, boats, and other assets. Martino, who previously acted as a ransomware negotiator, was sentenced to 70 months in prison for providing negotiation information to attackers and participating in extortion attacks.
