She also said, "After 11 months of addressing almost all demands, I truly don't understand what else my colleagues need in order to act." The bill passed the House last year with strong bipartisan support, but remained deadlocked for most of 2026 due to concerns from the banking industry about stablecoin yields and Democratic dissatisfaction with the ethics provisions. The updated bill text released last week has incorporated ethics clauses, prohibiting government officials and their families from issuing or promoting crypto assets.
