ChainCatcher News: According to official sources, Japanese gaming giant Gumi, through its subsidiary gC Labs, will launch the “SBI Crypto Fund I” crypto investment fund, jointly established with SBI Financial Services, on August 1. The fund size is approximately 3 billion yen (about $18.3 million), with a term of three years, structured as a private placement, and participation from multiple institutions including Daiwa Securities Group.

The fund will mainly invest in Bitcoin and mainstream altcoins, employing a portfolio of staking, rebalancing, and hedging strategies. The fund aims to serve as a bridge between the crypto asset market and Japanese enterprises, building a track record for the development of future financial products such as crypto ETFs. Currently, crypto ETFs have not yet been approved in Japan, and the launch of this fund is seen as an attempt to integrate traditional finance with digital assets.
