Visa shares jumped nearly 3% in Monday afternoon trading, positioning the payments giant for a new all-time closing high, based on data going back to 2008. Shares are currently hovering around $381.
The gain sets Visa on course for its fifth consecutive winning day; shares climbed about 6% over the period. This would be the company's first new record close since June 2025.
Visa reported higher revenue in its late-July earnings, citing resilient consumer and business spending.
Earlier this month, Bill Ackman's Pershing Square Capital Management revealed a new position in the fintech giant, held as of June 30. At current prices, the stake would be worth about $1.25 billion.
