Sector Update: Consumer Stocks Mixed Pre-Bell Tuesday

09:10 AM EDT, 08/25/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Consumer stocks were mixed pre-bell Tuesday, with the State Street Consumer Staples Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLP) down 0.5% and the State Street Consumer Discretionary Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLY) advancing 0.4%. Dick's Sporting Goods (DKS) stock was down nearly 20% after the company posted a decline in fiscal Q2 non-GAAP earnings and lowered its fiscal 2026 outlook. Vipshop Holdings (VIPS) shares were down nearly 3% after the company reported lower Q2 non-GAAP earnings and net revenue. Marzetti (MZTI) stock was up more than 5% after the company posted higher fiscal Q4 adjusted earnings.
