1.Nvidia blowout fades as chips reverse
On Thursday NVDA posted $96.22B in revenue and $89B in data-center sales (+117% YoY), with roughly 70% longer-term growth guidance; the stock jumped nearly 9%. On Friday Fed Chair Warsh used Jackson Hole to reaffirm the 2% inflation target and signal the Fed “still has work to do.” The PHLX Semiconductor Index dropped about 3.5%, and NVDA gave back roughly 4.6%. Management flagged memory shortages. The AI capex story is intact, but valuations are more rate-sensitive.
🎯 Beneficiaries: NVDA, MU, AVGO; Key catalyst: AVGO/DELL earnings this week will re-test whether AI capex is still running hot.

2. Dense AI earnings week: Broadcom, Dell, Palo Alto
PANW and DELL report after the close Tuesday; AVGO and SNOW after the close Wednesday. The Street is mapping AVGO’s AI-related sales against an ~$16B quarterly guide and next-year AI chip revenue near $120B. DELL will be judged on AI servers and margins; PANW on billings growth after CRWD’s surge. Nvidia just framed demand as strong and supply as constrained — this week’s numbers decide whether capital rotates back into semis and data-center hardware.
🎯 Beneficiaries: AVGO, DELL, PANW; Key catalyst: guidance and AI revenue mix; a miss could extend Friday’s multiple compression in chips.

3. Marvell–Google deal timing mismatch: stock down more than 10%
MRVL printed $2.739B in quarterly revenue, with data center +46% YoY, and lifted FY27/FY28 revenue outlook to about $12B and $18B. The custom-chip pact with GOOGL could theoretically support up to ~$120B of cumulative revenue plus a warrant structure, but management said incremental contribution through FY28 is already in the model and the real step-up comes in FY29. Shares fell about 10.3% Friday. Oct. 6 investor day is the next disclosure window.
🎯 Beneficiaries: MRVL, GOOGL; Key catalyst: custom ASIC conversion pace; watch Oct. investor-day quantification.

4. SK hynix breaks ground on Indiana HBM packaging plant
On Aug. 27 local time, SK hynix held a groundbreaking in West Lafayette for a $4B+ advanced-packaging campus. Cleanroom target is October 2028; HBM4E mass production is slated for 2H 2029, backed by about $458M in CHIPS Act funding. The CEO said memory tightness could last through 2030. Front-end wafers stay in Korea; the U.S. site handles stacking, packaging, and test for Nvidia and other U.S. customers.
🎯 Beneficiaries: MU, SNDK, NVDA; Key catalyst: HBM supply constraint plus U.S. packaging localization; watch memory names vs. chip designers.

5. U.S. strike on Larak Island launchers; Brent back to $90
On Sunday the U.S. confirmed strikes on two Iranian rocket launchers on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz, saying they were being readied to fire mine-carrying rockets — the first publicly acknowledged U.S. strike on Iran since late July. Tehran said it hit U.S. bases in Jordan in response. In early Asia trade Brent jumped more than 2% to about $90.3, WTI near $85.4. The conflict is in its sixth month; weekend visible transits fell to about five ships a day, still far below pre-war traffic.
🎯 Beneficiaries: XOM, CVX, HAL; Key catalyst: Hormuz transit and retaliation intensity; a sustained oil hold above $90 would squeeze risk appetite.

6. Warsh turns hawkish; September hike odds back above 50%
At his Jackson Hole debut Friday, Warsh said summer PCE/CPI readings were “better than expected” but “do not tell me that underlying trends have meaningfully improved,” and that the 2% target is “firm and fixed.” Markets lifted the implied chance of a September hike from about 35% to the 55%–57% range. The 2-year yield rose to about 4.35%, the 10-year to about 4.72%. Monday is a full session; weekend futures were roughly flat to slightly weaker as flows toggle between “AI fundamentals still strong” and “duration multiples under pressure.”
🎯 Beneficiaries: XOM, JPM, GLD; Key catalyst: Friday payrolls and this week’s PMIs — data will decide whether hike pricing can ease.

Trading note: Friday already priced a hawkish Fed into chips. This week hinges on whether AVGO/DELL guidance can stabilize the AI tape. Geopolitics is lifting oil and memory tightness remains the medium-term story — favor event-driven trades and keep duration risk tight.
