Ethereum Targets $6,000 as Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee Cites Four Major Catalysts
Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) Chairman Tom Lee projects that Ethereum (ETH-USD) could hit $6,000 as capital flows back into the crypto sector. Lee pointed out that a rise in the ETH/BTC ratio to 0.04 alongside a $150,000 Bitcoin price puts Ethereum near $6,000. He called this figure conservative, given that the ratio reached 0.08 during the 2021 market peak.
Lee outlined four primary market catalysts driving this outlook. First, the potential passage of the CLARITY Act could establish clear compliance rules for Wall Street. Second, sidelined cash waiting out four-year cycle patterns is starting to re-enter the market. Third, Asian institutional capital is shifting focus back into digital assets. Fourth, fund managers who hold no Ethereum will feel forced to buy in late if the token stays the top-performing asset past September 30.
Ethereum’s Charts Show Strong Buy Signals
Technical data supports this bullish momentum. Ethereum climbed 34% over a 30-day stretch, outpacing all other top-five crypto tokens. Daily trading volumes expanded by 39% to approach $9 billion, while the Crypto Fear and Greed Index hit 78, signaling strong market confidence.

On-chain metrics from Santiment show the 365-day MVRV ratio improving from -45% to -7%. In four out of the last five instances where this metric crossed above zero, a long-term bull market followed. A sustained break past $2,800 opens a direct path toward a $4,000 ETH price, while weekly RSI rebounds historically mark cycle bottom zones.
AI demand Increases Ethereum’s Market Reach
Looking past short-term trading signals, Lee points out how big money is moving. Large banks continue to build crypto tools on Ethereum. At the same time, AI tools need fast crypto networks to pay for small daily tasks instead of relying on slow banks.
Lee notes that putting stocks, bonds, and real assets on blockchains can grow the financial market from $150 trillion to over $500 trillion. To catch this growth, Bitmine aims to buy up to 5% of all Ethereum coins to help stabilize the market. The firm also finished a $4 billion stock buyback program, purchasing nearly 20 million shares to boost the amount of Ethereum backing each share.
At the time of writing, Ethereum’s price is sitting at $2,453.
