```html(1) In response to a Bloomberg report, Trump stated that whether Venezuela withdraws from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) should be decided by the country itself. The report noted that months after the United Arab Emirates left OPEC, Venezuela is now considering whether to exit the organization as well.(2) Since the US military captured then-President Maduro in January this year, Washington has imposed strict regulations on Venezuela's oil industry. Subsequently, the two countries signed a major oil supply agreement, allowing Venezuela to increase crude exports to the US.(3) Last Friday, Trump announced an even larger-scale agreement: the US will secure 17 major oil fields in Venezuela (with approximately 64 billion barrels of proven reserves, accounting for one fifth of the country's total reserves), ensuring a supply of up to 1.5 million barrels of crude oil per day to the US. Trump stated that ExxonMobil and Chevron are among the companies promising to invest.```
