Apple's New CEO Ternus to Get $3 Million Salary, $55 Million Equity Target

07:02 PM EDT, 09/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Apple's (AAPL) new Chief Executive Officer, John Ternus, will receive an annual salary of $3 million and a fiscal 2027 equity award with a target value of $55 million, the company disclosed in a filing Tuesday. Ternus' appointment as CEO became starting Sept. 1, 2026. Apple's People and Compensation Committee also granted him a prorated restricted stock unit award with a target value of $2.5 million for his period of service as CEO in fiscal 2026. Of the $55 million fiscal 2027 award, 75% will be performance-based RSUs tied to Apple's total shareholder return relative to the other companies in the S&P 500, with the remaining 25% in time-based RSUs vesting semiannually over four years, the company said.
