- A new energy-module pre-assembly line was integrated into vehicle assembly, linking the high-voltage battery to the body early in production.
- The upgrade was executed during a planned shutdown from Aug. 8 to Aug. 30, 2026, covering several hundred plant modifications.
- A new adjacent high-bay warehouse was added to hold energy modules for one day of output, feeding the line automatically.
- Regensburg has resumed production of the BMW X1 and X2, with daily output above 1,400 vehicles.
