Genuine Parts Names Court Carruthers CEO-Elect

09:19 AM EDT, 09/09/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Genuine Parts (GPC) said Wednesday that it has named board member Court Carruthers as chief executive officer-elect, effective immediately. The company said Carruthers will take on the role upon completion of Genuine Parts' planned separation of its automotive and industrial businesses into two independent, publicly traded companies, which is targeted for the first quarter of 2027. The automotive business will operate as Genuine Parts Company, while the industrial business will operate as Motion. Will Stengel, Genuine Parts' current chairman and chief executive officer, will become chairman and chief executive officer of Motion upon completion of the separation. Carruthers, who currently serves on Genuine Parts' board, was previously chief executive officer of packaging distributor TricorBraun.
