According to The Wall Street Journal, pipeline giant Energy Transfer LP plans to move its primary listing from the New York Stock Exchange to the Texas Stock Exchange, marking a major victory for the Texas Stock Exchange in its bid to disrupt the traditional listing landscape. Sources familiar with the matter revealed that Energy Transfer could make the move as soon as next month. This would be the largest company to date to shift its primary listing from New York to Texas, with Energy Transfer boasting a market capitalization of around $75 billion. The Texas Stock Exchange has been seeking to capture market share from the NYSE and Nasdaq, which currently dominate US public equity trading. So far, the exchange has attracted some ETFs, but its goal is to bring in more corporate listings.
