According to Jinse Finance, Oracle (ORCL.US) fell more than 5% on Monday, closing at $142.44. It was reported that Oracle has initiated a new round of layoffs, with some teams facing double-digit percentage cuts. This round of layoffs had been planned internally, primarily aimed at reducing payroll costs to support the company’s ongoing expansion of AI infrastructure investments. Meanwhile, Oracle is aggressively building data centers, with first-quarter capital expenditures reaching $28.5 billion, up from $8.5 billion in the same period last year. The company also maintains its capital expenditure forecast of $90 billion to $95 billion for fiscal year 2027.
