Deutsche Bank's chief U.S. equity strategist stated that investors need not be overly concerned about the outcome of the China-U.S. talks. The market hopes that the meeting between the leaders of the world's two largest economies will ease trade tensions and reduce the current high tariffs in place. However, Binky Chadha, chief U.S. equity strategist at Deutsche Bank, said that regardless of whether an agreement is ultimately reached this week, investors do not need to place too much emphasis on this meeting. The reason is that the stock market's biggest driving force—corporate earnings—remains strong. The third-quarter earnings season will kick off in full in mid-October, and Chadha expects corporate performance to be impressive, especially relative to current stock price levels, which will set the stage for market gains and help sustain the ongoing bull market. In August of this year, Deutsche Bank projected that S&P 500 companies' earnings would grow by 28% by 2026.
