RTX's Pratt & Whitney Delivers First GTF Advantage A321XLR to United Airlines

06:32 AM EDT, 09/24/2026 (MT Newswires) -- RTX's (RTX) Pratt & Whitney marked the delivery of the first aircraft supported by its GTF Advantage engines to United Airlines (UAL), an Airbus A321XLR, the companies said Thursday. The GTF Advantage engine offers up to twice the time on wing compared with the current GTF model, along with 4% to 8% more takeoff thrust to support longer-range capability. Pratt & Whitney said the GTF Advantage is interchangeable with the current GTF engine, with production expected to transition to the Advantage specification by 2028, it added.
