01:52 PM EDT, 09/28/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Healthcare stocks rose Monday afternoon with the NYSE Healthcare Index and the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) both gaining 0.3%. The iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) rose 0.4%. In corporate news, Kodiak Sciences (KOD) shares more than doubled after the company said its two experimental eye drugs, Zenkuda and tabirafusp-ted, met primary endpoints in a phase 3 trial in people with wet age-related macular degeneration. AbbVie (ABBV) shares rose 0.9% after the US Food and Drug Administration approved Juvmo tablets to treat adults with Parkinson's disease. BioNTech (BNTX) is closing three German sites it failed to sell in a shift away from pandemic-era manufacturing, Reuters reported. The shares rose 0.9%.
