Market Chatter: Nvidia Holds Discussions With Insurers About Shouldering Lending Risks Against Chips

04:32 AM EDT, 09/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Nvidia (NVDA) has held early-stage talks with insurers on structures that would help spread the risk of lending against its AI chips, the Financial Times reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the discussions. The company is exploring insurance protection for loans to smaller "neocloud" providers if they default and the pledged Nvidia chips cannot be resold at sufficient value, according to the report. The talks come as insurers roll out products tied to AI-infrastructure risks, including credit protection and coverage for chip-value declines. Nvidia didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
