Tesla Delays Long-Awaited Roadster Supercar Launch Event -- WSJ

Tesla fans who have waited nearly a decade for the reboot of the company's Roadster sportscar will have to wait a little longer.
A "launch" event in Waco, Texas originally scheduled for Thursday has been pushed back two weeks to Oct. 15, according to an email Tesla sent invitees yesterday. The company, which didn't respond to a request for comment, cited the weather forecast.
Tesla first revealed plans to reboot the Roadster - its original vehicle - in November 2017, and began taking deposits of up to $250,000 from potential customers. The car has been delayed multiple times from its initial 2020 production schedule.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has hyped the vehicle over the years, saying it will achieve 60 miles per hour from zero in less than a second and suggesting it may fly by using thrusters from his rocket company, SpaceX.
