- European Union Energy Commissioner Dan Jørgensen stated at the EU Energy Ministers Meeting held in Dublin, Ireland, on the 29th that since the outbreak of the conflict in Iran at the end of February, the EU has spent an additional approximately 10 billion euros on importing the same amount of fossil fuels.
- Jørgensen told media reporters that although the EU has paid an extra 10 billion euros for energy, "it has not obtained a single bit more natural gas or oil."
- He called on Europe to accelerate the process of electrification and reduce its reliance on imported fossil fuels.
- Jørgensen advocates for replacing "expensive imported fossil fuels" with domestic green energy.
