The Sui price advanced 2.35% to $1.20 on Friday, mirroring Bitcoin’s 2.79% climb as institutional demand and renewed ETF inflows drove a broad recovery in the cryptocurrency market. Traders noted improving sentiment across digital assets after Citigroup raised its 12-month Bitcoin forecast from $82,000 to $113,000, citing stronger crypto activity and a favorable macro environment.
Sui price targets $1.27 as Bitcoin strength lifts sentiment and gasless USDsui transfers expand
Sui price seeks key breakout as Bitcoin rallies
Technical analyst Ali Charts identified an emerging continuation pattern for Sui. He said an hourly close above $1.27 would serve as a breakout signal, potentially pointing to further upside. The next swing high at $1.29 remains in focus if momentum persists, with the $1.14 level now acting as support.
Citigroup estimated $5 billion could flow into crypto markets over the coming year, adding to the market’s positive tone. Analysts highlighted that Sui’s recent move followed three historical periods since September 12 where the token consolidated in channels before breaking higher, and a new similar setup is now developing.
Sustained trading above the 23.6% Fibonacci level and both 50-day and 200-day moving averages is supporting the broader upward trend. However, analysts noted that market direction still depends on macro influences and sustained volume, as seen during September’s rally when Sui’s daily trading volume neared $3 billion and overall open interest approached $930 million.
Open interest, as tracked by CoinGlass, reflects the value of outstanding derivatives contracts, both long and short. High leverage in these positions can trigger amplified price swings when liquidations occur, adding volatility around breakout targets.
Gasless transfers and tokenization initiative drive ecosystem growth
Sui’s technical developments continued to attract attention. On May 20, the protocol rolled out gasless stablecoin transfers, allowing users to send assets such as USDsui, USDC, FDUSD, and USDY without fees or the need for a separate SUI balance. This enables seamless peer-to-peer payments and could encourage business adoption by eliminating friction from wallet requirements and transaction costs.
Sui’s gasless protocol now lets users send stablecoins for free at the protocol level, with no SUI token required, making stablecoin payments as simple as sending a message between wallets.
The effectiveness of this payment feature depends on ongoing adoption and the integration of wallet providers that support these transfers. Eliminating gas fees may remove a common obstacle to using stablecoins for settlements onchain.
In tandem, Sui and OpenAssets have launched a joint effort under the Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust to establish a universal tokenization standard. The Open Tokenized Asset Standard aims to unify rules for identity, ownership, compliance, and settlement, improving interoperability across disparate financial systems. The Sui Foundation is contributing as an early sponsor, inviting other financial and infrastructure institutions to join the development process.
These initiatives align with the overall narrative of building sustainable infrastructure in digital finance. As short-term trading patterns set breakout triggers, traders now focus on fast, comprehensive market tools. In a market where a single Fed decision or a sudden altcoin listing can change everything in seconds, jumping between different apps for charts, news, and portfolio tracking is costing investors money. Smart traders are now utilizing privacy-first tools like CryptoAppsy to consolidate everything. Without even the hassle of creating an account, you get real-time charts, smart price s, coin-specific news, and critical macro data all on one screen.
While USDsui’s dollar peg shields it from Sui’s native token volatility, analysts said the stablecoin’s real impact on the network depends on consistent usage and future growth in transaction volume. The Open Tokenized Asset Standard, meanwhile, is still in development, with broader adoption and implementation to be determined over time.

This wave of the AI boom exhibits dual characteristics: On a micro level, the heavy-asset nature of AI data centers is driving the industry toward "real estate-like" debt financing models, such as corporate bonds, private credit, and computing power ABS. On a macro level, nearly $2 trillion in overseas excess savings is flowing into core AI assets in the U.S. stock market through private institutions, reconstructing a transnational capital cycle reminiscent of the period before the 2008 subprime mortgage crisis. With nearly $3 trillion in off-balance sheet debt and rising interest rates, the industry is facing an impending major liquidity test.
