Pundit to XRP Holders: We Have Less Than 10 Days Left. Here’s What Is Coming
Crypto commentator Austin Hilton has a message for XRP holders: the next ten days matter. In a video posted on X, Hilton addressed his audience directly, telling them a major Federal Reserve decision is approaching and that it will affect their crypto holdings.
Hilton opened by acknowledging the frustration many XRP holders share. “I’m tired of talking about the Federal Reserve and interest rates,” he said. “I’m tired of talking about inflation. I’m tired of talking about uncertainty.”
He told viewers he remains a believer in crypto as a financial opportunity for everyday people, but said the current environment demands attention.
The Fed Decision on October 28
The central event Hilton flagged is the Federal Reserve meeting scheduled for October 27 and 28. He told viewers that Wednesday, October 28 is the date to watch, as that is when the rate decision will be announced.
Hilton said he expects the Federal Reserve to raise the base interest rate by 0.25%. He cited recent Consumer Price Index and Producer Price Index inflation reports, both of which came in hot, as evidence the Fed will act. He put the probability of a rate hike at 80% or higher and said a rate cut is not on the table.
What a Rate Hike Means for XRP
Hilton explained the mechanics clearly. A rate increase raises borrowing costs and strengthens the U.S. dollar. It also pushes Treasury yields higher. When Treasury yields rise, investors tend to move capital out of risk assets like crypto and into safer returns. That pull reduces liquidity in the crypto market.
Hilton said crypto is already running on thin liquidity. He introduced his own term, “bullish liquidity” to describe capital entering the market with the expectation of price increases. He told viewers that bullish liquidity is simply not present right now.
He warned XRP could dip below $1.20 if the rate hike materializes and the market reacts negatively.
XRP’s Consolidation Pattern
Hilton also addressed XRP’s recent price behavior. He noted the asset rose more than 57% in 14 days before entering a consolidation pattern that has been in place since late August. He described this as frustrating but consistent with how XRP has historically moved: up, then consolidation, then up again.
He told viewers the market is in a holding pattern. Investors are waiting on the Fed before committing capital in either direction.
