CZ Spoke in Davos! “Most Memecoins Will Disappear!” He Said, and Singled Out One of Them!
Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the founder of Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, also attended the 2026 World Economic Forum held in Davos, Switzerland.
CZ stated that three promising areas in the cryptocurrency industry for the future will be tokenization, payments, and artificial intelligence (AI).
At this point, CZ stated that models combining traditional payment methods with blockchain, stablecoins, and artificial intelligence will grow, and that cryptocurrency will be the native currency for AI agents.
Zhao also predicted that, driven by advancements in blockchain and Know Your Customer (KYC) technology, the number of physical bank branches will significantly decrease over the next 10 years.
Dogecoin (DOGE) Separate!
CZ also touched upon memecoins, stating that most memecoins are not long-lasting, but singled out Dogecoin.
CZ stated in his speech that most memecoins are highly speculative and have a low probability of long-term survival.
However, he added that only a few cryptocurrencies with a strong cultural foundation like Dogecoin (DOGE) have the potential for long-term sustainability, and that DOGE will likely survive.
