Green Plains Renewable Energy Reports Fourth-Quarter Profit
Green Plains Renewable Energy Inc., headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, announced on Thursday that it achieved a net profit of $11.9 million for the fourth quarter.
The company's earnings translated to 17 cents per share, surpassing the expectations of Wall Street analysts. According to Zacks Investment Research, the consensus forecast among three analysts was 8 cents per share.
During the quarter, the ethanol producer and commodities firm generated $428.8 million in revenue.
Looking at the full year, Green Plains posted a net loss of $121.3 million, or $1.80 per share, with total revenue reaching $2.09 billion.
