Reuters Survey: Over Half of Economists Polled Expect the Federal Reserve to Cut the Federal Funds Rate by 25 Basis Points by the End of June

Glonghui, February 11｜Reuters Survey: Out of 101 economists surveyed, 60 believe that the Federal Reserve will lower the federal funds rate by 25 basis points to a range of 3.25%-3.50% by the end of June (there was no consensus in the January survey). Among 53 economists surveyed, 49 believe that the main risk is that under the leadership of Kevin Walsh, the Federal Reserve may set monetary policy too loosely. Out of 57 economists surveyed, 41 expressed concern that the independence of the Federal Reserve may be weakened after Powell's term ends.
