The optical communication sector surged, with AAOI up nearly 9% and Lumentum up more than 4%. Memory-related stocks rose, with SanDisk up more than 5%, Micron Technology up more than 3%, and Western Digital up more than 1%. Paramount Global fell more than 7%, hitting a near two-week low.
