Bitwise research analyst Ryan Rasmussen reported that XRP received the most attention from a group of approximately 400 wealth managers during a recent presentation focused on digital assets and blockchain trends. The event, held in partnership with Bitwise chief investment officer Matt Hougan, covered a range of topics including Bitcoin, Solana, Hyperliquid, stablecoins, and tokenization.
XRP draws most questions from wealth managers, Bitwise says
Elevated institutional attention on XRP
Rasmussen described notable engagement from participants regarding XRP, suggesting increased professional interest in the token. He shared through his X account that XRP consistently prompted the most inquiries throughout the session, highlighting an emerging curiosity from the wealth management sector.
XRP consistently prompted the most questions from the audience throughout the presentation, reflecting a strong level of interest among professional investors.
Institutional investors have also increased their exposure to XRP-based financial products. Data from SoSoValue shows that U.S. spot XRP exchange-traded funds saw 11 consecutive sessions of net inflows through Tuesday, collecting around $170 million over this period and accumulating roughly $1.68 billion since their launch in November.
Recent ETF data and major institutional positions
However, after this period of sustained inflows, the run ended with net outflows of about $7.2 million in U.S. spot XRP ETFs on September 2. The same day, spot Bitcoin and Ether funds experienced net outflows of approximately $14.3 million and $47.6 million, respectively. Despite the brief setback, institutional interest remains notable.
Regulatory filings indicate that several major financial institutions maintain sizable XRP positions. As of the end of the second quarter, Goldman Sachs reported the largest disclosed stake in XRP products, with about $87.4 million of exposure. Jane Street and Millennium Management followed with holdings worth $16.6 million and $16.2 million, respectively, according to figures cited by Bloomberg Intelligence.
Cautious allocations despite rising expectations
While institutional activity is mounting, most wealth managers have yet to make direct allocations to cryptocurrencies. Rasmussen noted that around 67% of the 400 professionals at the event reported no current crypto allocations. Despite this reticence, sentiment appears to be shifting. About 60% of attendees anticipated higher crypto prices by year-end, and another 60% signaled their intention to allocate to digital assets within the next 12 months.
In a market where a single Fed decision or a sudden altcoin listing can change everything in seconds, investors are increasingly attentive to efficient ways of monitoring developments. Smart traders are now utilizing privacy-first tools like CryptoAppsy to consolidate everything. Without even the hassle of creating an account, users get real-time charts, smart price s, coin-specific news, and critical macro data all on one screen.
With persistent inflows, rising institutional exposure, and growing interest among professional investors, XRP’s role in institutional portfolios continues to evolve. Financial firms’ filings and professional inquiries suggest this interest is likely to remain an area to watch.
Data from ETF flows and institutional filings clearly illustrate sustained interest in XRP among large market participants, despite periods of increased volatility across the crypto sector.
